Getting Around Assisi

Walking – A lot of walking is required in Assisi, be prepared by bringing sturdy comfortable walking shoes. Assisi is also a very hilly town with many stairs, you may want to consider a good walking stick.

  • A good map of Assisi is also invaluable, especially if this is your first visit. You can acquire a map at the Information Center located in the Piazza Del Comune in Assisi.

Buses in Town

  • The bus network in Assisi is made up of 3 main lines (A, B, and C line) that run every 20-30 minutes to and from the city outskirts towards the center of town.

The bus lines are as follows*:

  • A Line: Piazza del COMUNE-Piazza MATTEOTTI-STADIO OLIVI
  • B Line: Piazza del COMUNE-OSPEDALE-Piazza UNITA’ D’ITALIA

Piazza GARIBALDI

  • There is also a public mini-bus service, Line A and B. The major external parking sites are linked to the most important monuments. All bus Tickets are available in bars, tobacconists and newspaper sales. Tickets can be bought directly on the bus, but tend to be pricier than if purchased ahead of time.
